Episode 63: Mamma Mia!

To start things, I talk about what a great year it's been to watch TV. There's been some excellent shows premiering and the crappy shows are leaving...most of them anyway.

I then move to some sad news about a Vertigo cancellation. Lastly, I wrap things up talking about DMZ: Body of a Journalist (Brian Wood, Riccardo Burchielli).

Episode 62: Names

This week's episode involves me talking about my recent trip to a wedding and why I'm not feeling so well. Afterwards, I butcher names left and right as usual, and even make fun of a name. Parents are cruel.

There's actually news this week that I try to make somewhat exciting. Lastly, I cover the trippy but enjoyable Testament: Babel (Douglas Rushkoff, Liam Sharp).

Episode 61: Action!

To kick things off, I talk some Iron Man 2. Don't worry, I give a spoil-free review of the movie. Sadly, it's not as good as the first one.

There's finally some Vertigo news this week about a few upcoming titles. I then talk about this week's trade in Northlanders: The Cross and the Hammer (Brian Wood, Ryan Kelly). It's a beautiful, action-filled book with little else.

If this episode doesn't blow you away, I blame my allergies and my elbow. But I don't want to make excuses so I won't talk about it anymore.

Episode 60: Jim Starlin's Rolling Over In His Grave

I heard some news that disappointed me. It's about remakes and reimagings in both the comic and movie world. I talk about the upcoming Infinity Gauntlet remake and the Nightmare on Elm Street remake. I discuss why remakes are bad if they don't study or understand the source material. I'm totally making it sound more serious than it is.

Afterwards, I cover Crossing Midnight: A Map of Midnight (Mike Carey, Jim Fern). It reminds me how fascinating and different the Japanese mythologies are from the ones I grew up with--not to mention the hentai.
