Episode 91: Throat of Mystery

I know I normally say, “It’s going to be a short show,” but this time it actually is. My throat’s sore from lack of sleep and playing Def Jam Rapstar. That means less bad singing and impersonations. I do manage to squeeze in a few minutes talking about my new favorite game, Game Dev Story.

Since I’m a fair man, I do give the House of Mystery series another chance. I cover House of Mystery: Love Stories for Dead People (Matthew Sturges, Luca Rossi). If only House of Mystery was two separate books, I would thoroughly enjoy one.

Episode 90: Conveniently Down

I’m a bit grumpy this week, more so than normal. Maybe it’s the fact that I’m old. I spend a few minutes talking about my card tournament and while I scrubbed out, I got to play the new Back to the Future card game. Now that’s good. Go get it.

There’s actually some news this week. Surprise, surprise. I then go on yet another rant about Y: The Last Man—Paper Dolls (Brian K. Vaughan, Pia Guerra). Even I’m getting tired of talking about how bad it is.

Episode 89: WHAT?

To kick things off, I talk about Round Table and how disappointing their portions, especially their garlic twists, have become. I continue my discussion and love for RedLetterMedia, spending far too much time on it, because some angry, nerd wrote a 108 page rant.

I then finish covering the limited Crossing Midnight series by reading Crossing Midnight: The Sword in the Soul (Mike Carey, Jim Fern). Not Mike Carey’s best work but still a good read.

Episode 88: Love Stories

I’m back for the new year! Did you miss me? Don’t answer that. To kick things off for 2011, I start things off a little differently and definitely weirder. To begin the new year, you should watch RedLetterMedia finish its analysis of the overrated Episode III.

There’s actually news this week or maybe it’s because it’s been awhile since I last recorded. Sadly, I begin the first show of this year by going over the rather repetitive Y: The Last Man—Girl on Girl (Brian K. Vaughan, Pia Guerra).
